Qur'anic Studies (Tafseer & Tajweed)
Qur'anic Studies (Tafseer & Tajweed)
Course Overview
In the Qur’anic Studies (Tafseer & Tajweed) course at Al Rushd, students gain both the skills to recite the Qur’an with precision and the knowledge to understand its meanings. The course combines the science of Tajweed with the study of Tafseer, offering a holistic approach to Qur’anic learning.
Students begin by mastering the correct rules of Tajweed—articulation (makharij), elongation (madd), and proper stopping (waqf)—while developing fluency and clarity in recitation. Alongside this, they explore Tafseer, delving into the contexts, themes, and explanations of selected surahs to understand the Qur’an’s guidance for daily life.
Through recitation practice, guided reflections, and engagement with classical and contemporary Tafseer works, pupils strengthen both their technical recitation and their spiritual connection to the Qur’an. Qualified teachers provide step-by-step instruction, feedback, and opportunities for discussion, helping students not only recite beautifully but also appreciate the depth and wisdom of the Qur’anic message.
